Abstract
The treatment of acute stroke at DEEK Neurology Clinic is the subject of this study which aims to establish a thesis on effectiveness of the therapeutic processes applied.
The data used as our reference has been collected from invasively treated patients suffering from acute stroke at Clinical Center of Debrecen University, dpt. of Neurology and dpt. of Radiology between 2010-2015. To ensure the statistical correctness the same sampling procedure has been followed for every patient.
We focused on three patient groups defining the treatment type as the differentiation factor:
- Intravenous thrombolysis
- Intra-arterial thrombolysis and
- Mechanical thrombectomy.
To postulate the most efficient treatment, multiple aspects will be projected including invasive and non-invasive methods. By ordering the patients into groups - by i.e. risk factors, known illness, treatment delay since onset of stroke etc. - significant diversity is aimed to be found.
